Reduce risk of heart attack or stroke in high-risk patients
Mechanism & Pharmacokinetics ▼
Mechanism: Irreversibly inhibits platelet P2Y12 ADP receptors, reducing platelet aggregation.
Pharmacokinetics: Rapidly absorbed orally; converted to active metabolite by hepatic esterases; peak plasma levels ~30 min; half-life ~7 hours; excreted via urine and feces.
