Mechanism: Tazarotene is a selective retinoic acid receptor agonist that modulates gene expression, normalizes keratinocyte differentiation, and reduces inflammation.
Pharmacokinetics: Minimal systemic absorption when applied topically. Metabolized rapidly to tazarotenic acid and excreted mainly in urine. Peak plasma levels <2 hours post-application.
