Mechanism & Pharmacokinetics ▼
Mechanism: Selectively blocks alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the prostate and bladder neck, relaxing smooth muscle and improving urine flow.
Pharmacokinetics: Well absorbed orally; peak plasma concentration in 4–5 hours; metabolized in the liver via CYP3A4 and CYP2D6; excreted in urine and feces.
