Mechanism & Pharmacokinetics ▼
Mechanism: Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle to lower blood pressure. Benazepril inhibits ACE, reducing angiotensin II and aldosterone, further lowering BP.
Pharmacokinetics: Amlodipine: oral Tmax ~6–12 hr, metabolized in liver; Benazepril: oral Tmax 1 hr, converted to active metabolite, excreted in urine.
