Mechanism & Pharmacokinetics ▼

Mechanism: Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis and producing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Pharmacokinetics: Rapid oral absorption. Extensively protein bound. Short elimination half-life (~2–3 hours). Metabolized in the liver and excreted via urine and bile.

Note: Maximum daily dose is 600 mg. Take after meals.

Anticoagulants and antiplatelets: increased bleeding risk

Corticosteroids: increased GI ulcer risk

ACE inhibitors and diuretics: reduced renal function

Other NSAIDs: increased adverse effects
