Mechanism: Tiotropium is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist. It blocks M3 receptors in airway smooth muscle, causing bronchodilation and reduced mucus secretion.
Pharmacokinetics: Inhaled drug acts locally; minimal systemic absorption. Peak plasma levels 5–7 minutes after inhalation; eliminated mainly via renal excretion. Half-life ~25 hours.
