Indications ▼

Dry Eye Syndrome: Lubrication and symptomatic relief of dry, irritated eyes.

Ophthalmic Surgery: Protection of corneal endothelium during cataract, corneal, or vitreoretinal procedures.

Osteoarthritis: Intra-articular injection for pain relief and improved joint mobility in knee osteoarthritis.

Other Indications: Corneal epithelial defects, post-operative wound healing, tissue augmentation in some cosmetic procedures.

Mechanism & Pharmacokinetics ▼

Mechanism: Provides viscoelastic support and lubrication. In ophthalmic use, protects corneal epithelium and endothelium; in joints, restores synovial fluid viscosity and reduces friction.

Pharmacokinetics: Minimal systemic absorption from eye drops or intra-articular use. Metabolized gradually by hyaluronidase enzymes; excreted as water and carbon dioxide.
